Our mission is to protect life and property within the Black Jack Fire Protection District's boundaries. To that effort, we recruit the best-qualified fire fighters and paramedics to meet that need.
Our apparatus respond to over 4,000 calls per year. Black Jack Fire Protection District has proudly served the community for almost 90 years and will continue to provide the best possible service to its citizens.
Black Jack Fire Protection District covers 26 square miles in north St. Louis County, Missouri. We operate out of 3 firehouses and cover parts of unincorporated St. Louis County, the entire city of Black Jack, and portions of the cities of Florissant and Dellwood.
Black Jack Fire Protection District provides fire, rescue, and emergency medical services to its residents. We have state-of-the-art fire suppression equipment and are trained in various types of rescues, including vehicle extrication, high angle rescue, and water rescue. Some of our members are on regional and national urban search and rescue teams as well as the St. Louis County Hazardous Materials Response Team. Additionally, Black Jack is certified by the State of Missouri as an advanced life support provider, which means that our fire apparatus carry paramedic level equipment. Out of 35 employees, Black Jack currently staffs 12 paramedics and 16 EMTs. The fire district contracts with Christian Hospital EMS for transport service. Christian EMS unit 3737 is stationed at house 3.
We also serve the community through our outreach program by partnering with Hazelwood School District in food drives, winter coat drives, and school supply giveaways. Black Jack also hosts an annual school supply giveaway for teachers that is a collaboration with state representative Alan Green and radio personality Demingo.
