Firefighter/Paramedic Jobs St. Louis

Make a difference in the lives of residents by helping to protect the community and join the BJFPD team as a firefighter/paramedic. Individuals who wish to apply to serve as a firefighter/paramedic must have a high school diploma or GED, a current State of Missouri Paramedic license, and Firefighter I and II certification from the St. Louis County Fire Standards Commission. In addition, a CPAT certification is required prior to joining the team.

Minimum Job Requirements

Firefighter-Paramedic

Black Jack Fire Protection District is seeking candidates for multiple open positions of Paramedic/Firefighter for staffing their second ambulance.
 

Interested candidates must complete an "Application for Employment Form" 

Application packets can be picked up at the Fire District's Headquarters located at 5675 North Highway 67, Florissant, Missouri 63034 or by emailing ndailey@blackjackfpd.com

 

Application forms will be available and accepted from 08:00 AM (CST) to 4:00 PM, (CST) Monday through Friday, February 11, 2025 to March 4, 2025.

Important Dates:

  • Interviews - March 10 (and 12 if needed) 

  • Practical - March 13 (and 14 if needed) 

  • Board interviews - April 1, 2025 

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED 

  • Valid State of Missouri Paramedic License or valid (EMT-P) National Registry Paramedic License -If a NREMT-P license is turned in, the candidate MUST be willing to obtain a State of Missouri Paramedic License before start date. 

  • Professional Firefighter I & II certification from the Greater St. Louis County Fire Academy (PREFERRED) 

  • Signed "Certification of Application Authorization for Release of Information Form" 

  • CPAT - Candidate must possess a current CPAT (Candidate Physical Agility Test) card upon job offer if already certified Firefighter 1 & 2 through Greater St. Louis Fire Academy. 

  • Record Check- 

  • Anyone moving onto an interview with the Board of Directors. This record must be turned in Seven (7) days prior to the interview with the Board of Directors
